All abour Earthquakes by Matthew

Last Week we learned about Earthquakes.
An earthquake is a sudden violent shaking of the ground.
Earthquake - WikipediaFirst of all, what should you do before an Earthquake? Practice Drop, cover and hold.  Find a safe place close to you at home, school or shops. Planning for survival you will need supplies for at least 3-7 days. You will need food, water, and blankets. Good things to also have are warm clothes, raincoat, torch, radio, and batteries. Don’t forget the first aid kit. Then after an Earthquake, we must remember to switch off electricity, water, and gas. Try to put out small fires if there is a big fire, get out. Check on Neighbours and help.

What to do in a Earthquake by Joel

What is an Earthquake?
An Earthquake is a sudden violent shaking of the ground, typically causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action.

Last week our class learned about what we should do in an Earthquake. First of all, what should you do before an Earthquake?
Practice an Earthquake drill and identify a safe place.
To plan for survival, you will need supplies for at least 3-7 days. You will need food, water, a torch, blankets, a first aid kit and washing supplies. What should you do while an Earthquake is happening? Go out to a very open place. If you can’t go out of the building,  drop, cover and hold, where there’s  no windows or stuff that can fall onto you.

What should you do after an Earthquake? Contact all of your friends and family people to see if they are okay. If a friend or family member has found a safer place go there if you can.

My Healthy Bar Wrapper by Aidan

  • Showed Aidan a Muesli bar wrapper as an example of the task.
  • Displayed on his Chromebook pictures of fruit and wheat products.
  • Aidan selected apples, bananas and Weetbix. The pictures were printed, cut out and glued onto a wrapper template.
  • Aidan pointed to the picture of the Weetbix when asked about a name for his healthy bar - Weety Bar decided upon.
  • The final healthy food bar wrapper was done on the Chromebook.
