Playing Soccer with Team Eagles By Julia

On Monday 26th  June,  we went to Macleans  College to play our football games.  We played with other schools. I was trying to get the ball.  I was in the Eagles team  with  Matthew, Thiha, Joel, Jordan, Angus and myself. We played  Pakuranga  College. I saw my friend  Amy.  I was a  goalkeeper. We also played  Howick College. My favourite part is to kick the ball.  There was  Edgewater 1, Edgewater 2 and Edgewater 3. The weather was sunny and raining.  Next time I would like to score more goals.

  

Playing Soccer at the Special Olympics by Joel

On Monday the 26th of June, we went to the Special Olympics Football Tournament at Macleans College. I was in Shyama's car. When we got there we had a little warm up time before the opening ceremony. Then we got into our teams. I was on the "Eagles" team. Nex, we got into our first game. I was trying my best to get the ball off from the other team. At one time in the first game, Thiha was throwing the ball to someone, so I tried to go near our goal to try and help Thiha’s throw. But I missed that time. We won our first game 3-1. After we played the first game we went on and played 3 other games but we lost all of those games. Next, we went to the other side of the football ground and I played more of a free game. On that game, I dribbled the ball down the field and passed the ball to William. He got it into our goal. I was really proud of myself at that time! Then we had a little rest. After that, we sat down and they announced the winners. My team didn’t win but my team came 4th. After that, we went back to school. I had really fun time at Special Olympics Football Tournament. Next time I would like to try and get some more goals.

               

Edgewater Athletics Day By Julia

On Wednesday  22nd March we went to Edgewater College  Athletics Day with our class, Edgewater 2, Edgewater 3.   I was  in  Jones Group with Kyi - Kyaw,Matthew and joel.  First, we did long jump. I did 2 big jumps. Next, we went to do Obstacle running. It was a bit hard to jump over the desk.  Then I did throwing. The shotput was heavy. The last event was running 400m. I felt really tired after the race. This year I Didn’t do the relay but I was in the group last year.  After lunch we watched relays and the team from Sommerville group did very well. It was really an exciting day.

Playing Touch Rugby by Thiha

On Monday, We went on a trip to Papatoetoe school. We all went in the flash van. It was very hot in the van because its windows were not open. We ate morning tea and then we played Touch Rugby with them. I passed the ball to my team and ran with the ball. I got  2 tries. I met new friends. We saw Lionel’s class there. After a while, we had lunch and said goodbye to them.

We came back and I felt really happy.

Touch Rugby Fun By Ruby

On Monday we went to Papatoetoe school and we played touch rugby with Mount Richmond Satellite class.  Kate and Andrew went with our class.

Lionel’s class was there. When we got there I had morning tea with my friends.

We played a game after that.  We were running with the ball.

I touched the other players.  We saw Ashwin and Lionel’s class.

They gave us milk drinks and some fruits.

We went in the big van. It was hot in the van.We turned  the fan on.Outside  was very hot and sunny. I felt tired.  

Touch Rugby Fun with Mt. Richmond

ASB stadium By Thiha

On Thursday, we went to the ASB stadium. We went by bus. We eat morning tea. We played Sunnydene first at basketball. We played very hard. We played Balmoral school. And then we played with Sommerville Shelley’s class. We played very well. Matthew pass me the ball and I shoot. We won 3 games. I had lot of fun.

"Give it a Go" Day at Sommerville by Matthew

On Friday I went to the Tamaki field at Sommerville Base school. I went to the Doctors first then Dad dropped me at Tamaki. In my group I had Thia,Bradley,Ruby,Nikhil and Lauren. We did shot put,relay,boticca,egg and spoon and the obstacle course. My favourite was rugby. The weather was sunny but later it was raining lately. It was a fun day.

Sommerville Sports Day by Joel

On Friday we went to sports day at Tamaki field at Somerville base school. Lionel came to picked us up in the school van. When we got there we got into groups. There was a lot in my group. We did running, skipping and snag golf. The weather was sunny and drizzling. My favourite activity was snag golf. We had lots of fun.
