Fun Day at Corban Estate by Matthew
On Thursday we all went in a big bus to the InterAct Art Festival. First, we went into the big hall where we had our morning tea. After our Morning tea, I went to watch a show of people dancing. The show was great to watch. I then went into the next Hall where there were a lot of art things to do. I drew a self-portrait on a large paper on the wall.
I also did other colouring activities. I enjoyed the wearable arts. I wore a mask and walked in the wearable Arts parade. We waited on the sidewalk for a long time before our bus

Inter ct Art Festivel By Joel
On Thursday I went to the InterAct Art Festival in Henderson with my class and the two other classes. First of all, we travelled in three cars to get to the base school. I went into Val's car. Next, we went onto a bus to get to the festival. When we got there we went inside and I first painted a picture with a lot of patterns on it. Then I went and made a hat. I made a dog hat. After that, we all went and watched some performers. Matthew, Kyi Kyaw and Kaine took part in the wearable arts parade. Next, we had lunch and us to the top sidewalk to try and get a bus to take us back to school, but our bus got cancelled so we had to wait on the grass for another bus to come. Finally, when the new bus came we went onto it and it took us back to the base school where the taxi picked me up. I had a really awesome time at the arts festival.

Staying Home By Aidan
I had a sore tummy last week and I stayed at home. I remembered to brush my teeth at home and Val is happy about that. Everybody was glad to see me this morning and I am happy to be back. I listened to music this morning at school and liked that. Later on, I worked hard by colouring in by number.

Doing P.E with the Edgewater year 13
On Monday the 7th, our class did PE with the year 13’s of Edgewater College. First, we got changed into our PE gear. Then we went into the big PE room. Next us and the year 13 students got into two teams. After that, we did some warm ups like throwing the ball into the net and the other team did table tennis. Then we played some games like tagging, Simon says, soccer and duck duck goose. The tagging one was really fun because we had to run across the room and try to not get tagged by the taggers. In one soccer game, I got some goals. I was really proud of myself. The last game we played there was duck duck goose. Then we went back to class. I had a really fun time playing with the year 13’s.

Acting out in the holidays by Joel
During the term 1 holidays, I was acting in a short film set in the 1800s. First, my youth leader picked me up from my home. Then I went to the filming place. The filming place was the Howick Historical Village. When I got there, I went to the green room to get setup. I was a miner in the film. After that, we went to the film area. My part was marching from mining with some other people. We had to do it over and over again. My feet were so tired from walking and marching. After about 4 or 5 hours of filming, I went back to the green room. Lastly, I had a snack and I went home. I was really excited to be acting in a film.

Our song performance at Te Oro by Joel
Yesterday we went to Te Oro to perform our Rivers of Tamaki song to 12 other schools. First of all, we went into the van to get there. When we got to Te Oro, there were lots of other people. But before we performed our song, we went and looked at other schools things. I saw one of the schools has made a fake polluted river and some fake land. Next, we lined up ready to perform our song. But we had to wait for the little ones to finish doing their show. Then we went up to the stage and Hills introduced our song and the instruments we made for it. One example is the larger phone. The larger phone has bottle tops from the Tamaki Rivers. Next, we started to sing our song. We sang with EWC 2. After we sung our song, we turned around to went out to the van. I had a really fun time performing our song at Te Oro.

No Excuses!!!!!! By Mina
Most people litter everywhere, especially around waterways a lot, like your family members, friends, neighbors or even yourself. But it’s not ok to litter around. When you do it, you have some very good excuses to do so. Remember!!!!! there is NEVER a good excuse for littering. Following are some of the excuses people made to cover what they do.
’’It’s just a lolly wrapper.’’
’’Everyone else does it!’’
’’It fell out of my pocket’’
’’Why shouldn’t I?’’
’’It’s so tiny, it won’t matter’’
’’I saw an adult do it.’’
”Animals will eat apple core”
”There wasn’t a sign telling me not to litter”
Have you ever littered and thought you had a good reason for it?

Cleaning Around the school Field by Joel
On Monday, we went to pick up rubbish on our school field. First of all, we got plastic bags and put on gloves. Then we went to EWC 3 to get the other students. Next, we went out onto the big field and started on the right side near the gym. I picked up lots of rubbish and filled up a big bag. After a while we went up to the area where the new classrooms are and we picked up more rubbish. Lastly, we went to the bins next to the gym and put all the rubbish bags in there and went back to the class. I was surprised to see how much rubbish was there on the school field.

Keeping our Beaches Clean By Joel
Yesterday we went to Farmcove Beach to see the local waterway. We went in the big Toyota van. When we got there we went for a walk around the beach and we saw lots of new houses and boats. After that, we went into the sand area of the beach and picked up some rubbish. After that we went and played in the “Snakes and Ladders” on the Snakes and Ladders playground that they had there. First some one had to roll the dice and had to go up along ladders and go down by slides. We also went on the exercise machines by the carpark. I had a really fun time at the beach and I hope we will go to look at other waterways in the near future.
